Ingredients
Ridge gourd - 2 large
Moong dal (split green gram) - 1/2 cup of medium size
Green chilly - 1 to 2 (vary according to taste)
Salt
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Tomato - 1 OR tamarind pulp - 1 spoon
Asafoetida - 1/4 spoon
Oil - 2 to 3 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1 spoon
Jeera - 1 spoon
Method
1. Peel off ridge gourd and chop them to medium sized pieces.
2. Pressure cook chopped ridge gourd, moong dal, chopped tomato(or tamarind pulp), salt with 1 cup of water.
3. In a pan, heat oil and put mustard and jeera. When it splutters, add cooked daal mixture and boil. Sprinkle asagoetida on top and mix well.
Ridge gourd daal is ready !!!!. tastes yummy with chapathi or rice.
