This dish is called as "Sajjige Rotti" in Mangalore region of Karnataka where "Sajjige" means "Rava" in Mangalore side.
Onion - 1 small sized
Curry leaves - 10 to 15
Semolina / Rava - 1 big cup
Water - 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cup
Salt
Method
1. Chop Onion and Curry leaves.
2. Mix chopped Onion, Curry leaves, Salt, Rava and water in a vessel as shown in picture 1.
3. Grease a spoon of oil on pan and heat it.
3. Take a scoop of prepared batter and spread it over the greased pan as shown in picture 2.
4. Put little oil on top of spread batter. Do not cover the pan. Cook both the sides.
Serve Rava Rotti with Coconut chutney.
Tips to be followed:
1. Cook Rotti on medium flame. Otherwise it may get burnt.
2. If you want Rotti to be soft, after mixing the ingredients in vessel keep it aside for 2 to 3 minutes. Also cover Rotti with lid while cooking.
