Hiii...after a long time I am here :-)
I saw a recipe given by Lakshmi Subrahmanya in Tharanga magazine. I tried it and it turned out delicious...Thanks Lakshmi madam :-)
I am presenting that recipe for you here.
Ingredients
Ridge gourd - 1/2
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
White Sesame seeds - 1 spoon
Jeera / Cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon
Methid /Fenugreek seeds - 10 to 15
Red chilly - 3
Oil - 1 spoon
Mustard seeds - 1 small spoon
Salt - as per taste
Method
1. Cut the ridge gourd into pieces, cook it and let it cool.
2. Dry roast sesame, red chilly, Jeera and Methi seeds separately and allow it to cool.
3. Mix everything described in above 2 steps with grated coconut, Salt and grind it to fine paste.
4. Heat oil and put mustard seeds. Once Mustard splutters put this over the ground paste.
Holisoppu is ready !!! ..It really goes well with plain rice and chapathi.
