Tomato daal

Daal - an Indian dish that is prepared using grams usually green gram or pigeon pea. There are various types in preparing dal (thovve). I have presented one among them. It tastes delicious when mixed with rice.


Ingredients
===================
Toor dal (pigeon pea) (thogari bele) - 1 cup
water - 1 cup
Tomato - 2
Onion - 2
Green chilly - 2
Jeera - 1 tablespoon
mustard - half tablespoon
Ginger - 1 inch
Salt
Coriander leaves - 2 table spoon
Oil - 2 table spoon
Asafoetida (Hing) - a pinch

Method
===========================
1. Add chopped tomatoes with toor dal (Soak toor dal in water for an hour, so that it cookes faster); add salt according to your taste and pressure cook using 1 cup of water.

2. In a pan, heat oil; add mustard seeds and jeera. When it starts to pop out, add finely chopped onion and finely chopped chilly and fry untill onion color changes.

3. Add finely chopped ginger to the above and fry for a minute.

4. Now add cooked dal and tomatoes into it; mash a bit and boil.

5. Sprinkle asafoetida (hing) and chopped coriander leaves on the top.

Now tomato daal is ready !!!!!!!!!!!!
Mix well before you serve ......
